   Why Most Emergency Stretchers Use 200mm Central Lock Casters? Most stretchers are equipped with 200mm central lock casters for good reason. Generally, there are two key reasons why stretchers must use 200mm diameter caster wheels:


   1.Emergency stretchers often operate ==outdoors and over uneven surfaces. A larger wheel diameter ensures much better passing ability and obstacle clearance.


   2. Outdoor use means stretcher caster wheels must handle rough, uneven ground and high-speed movement. This requires wheels with excellent shock absorption and impact resistance

Stem Sizes & Lock Cam Options

Our central lock casters are available with two standard stem sizes:

  • Ø32 x 50mm stem

  • Ø28 x 97.5mm stem

  • They come with 30° or 45° lock cam.

Users must check the lock pedal: when the pedal is in the balance / neutral position, verify whether the hex hole angle matches Type A or Type B. Then select the correct lock cam degree accordingly.

How to Select Central Locking Caster Wheels for Stretchers?


One stretcher bed uses 4 caster wheels. To ensure proper function, you must match the central locking system correctly.

We currently offer 3 types of central lock mechanisms:


  • Type A: 2-step 30/45° Lock Cam – 1 Neutral + 1 Total Locking

  • Type B: 3-step 30/45° Lock Cam – 2 Neutral + 1 Total Locking

  • Type C: 3-step 30/45° Lock Cam – 1 Neutral + 1 Direction lock + 1 Total Locking

Valid Combinations for ONE Stretcher Bed:

  1. 4 pcs × Type A
  2. 2 pcs × Type B + 2 pcs × Type C
  3. 3 pcs × Type B + 1 pc × Type C
Note: 4 pcs × Type C will NOT work on one bed.

 


The two standard central lock stem sizes are Ø32mm x 50mm and Ø28mm x 98.5mm.
